Harris — Orvay
Model standing in a London living room wearing wide-leg knitted trousers
Knitwear, cut as trousers

Harris

Wide-leg trousers in a wool and cashmere blend. The comfort of your softest jumper, in something you can leave the house in.

The cloth

Wool for structure. Cashmere for the hand.

Cashmere alone is beautiful to touch and hopeless in a wide leg — it gives, and it stays given. The wool is what holds the line, so the leg falls the same way at seven in the evening as it did at breakfast.

Skeins of undyed wool and cashmere yarn resting on a wooden surface Goats grazing on a hillside at first light

Combed, not shorn. Spun soft, knitted dense.

The waist

Nothing to unfasten

No zip, no button, no hook sitting wrong after a long lunch. A high knitted rib and a soft drawstring — tied where your body wants it, not where the label decided.

The knit

Dense enough to be trousers

A deep, generous rib you can judge between finger and thumb. Fully opaque, with enough weight to hang straight instead of clinging.

Three ways

One trouser, all autumn

Model seated in a leather armchair, legs crossed Model standing by an orangery window in soft daylight

The working morning

With a fine knit and bare feet. Nothing like a tracksuit.

Lunch out

Loafers, a white shirt, gold at the ear.

The long journey

Trains, motorways, the drive north. Arrive uncreased.

Plainly

The facts

Fibre
A wool and cashmere blend. Softness and structure, arriving together.
Fit
High ribbed waist, wide leg, full length.
Feel
Soft against bare skin. No prickle.
Care
Cool hand wash or wool cycle. Dry flat. Never tumble.
Pilling
Like all fine knitwear it may pill a little at first. A comb sorts it in seconds, and it settles.
Price
£125. The larger houses begin north of £200, often for less cloth and less thought.

Asked often

Before you decide

Will they stretch out of shape?

The wool gives the knit memory. It relaxes as you wear it and returns to itself.

Are they see-through?

No. The rib is dense and fully opaque, in every colour.

Will they itch?

No. Soft enough for bare skin, with no prickle at the waist.

Can I wear them indoors without overheating?

Yes. Warm, but breathable — this is knitwear, not thermal wear.

What if they don't fit?

Send them back within 30 days. Returns across the UK are free.
